25 Feb Hit Like A Cat Not A Dog
I’m a dog lover. I had a cat once and he was great. I don’t hate cats, I just prefer dogs.
When you come home, the dog rushes at you like it hasn’t seen you in 5 years. A cat is more patient and will often wait until you come to them. Sort of how good hitters approach an at-bat.
If a dog were to bat, it would have no patience. It would jump at every pitch it sees in the strike zone. No game-plan. No situational hitting. It would just swing like it hasn’t had an at-bat in 5 years. Sound familiar, coaches?
A cat, however, would be calmer and much more patient. It would make the pitcher come to him. It would wait for a pitch it could handle according to the situation. He’d always be coiled/loaded up and ready to pounce/attack if he got the pitch but if the pitcher didn’t give him anything to hit, he would gladly take a light stroll to first base. Wish you had nine guys in your lineup like that, coaches?
Hit like you’re a cat.
