The cut-out construction–where the glove separates between the toe and palm–creates a larger catching area, meaning a wider space within the palm where the ball can hit and reliably be funneled into the pocket. Additionally, this design is easier to break in than traditional first base mitts. The 2027 A2000® DH12 is a 12” pitcher’s glove built to create an extra deep pocket where pitchers can dig for their grip without giving away what they’re throwing. New for 2027, the Flex Insert™ introduces a leather and felt hybrid piece running from the thumb to the heel, softening one of the most difficult parts of the glove to break in and making it 17% easier to squeeze the glove shut compared to previous models. The DH12 gets its name from the Dual Hinge Web, a closed-web design that allows for an extra deep pocket that opens wide, letting pitchers find their grip without tipping off batters based on the glove wriggles or how wide it appears from home plate. The modified wrist opening hugs the hand while letting the DH12 sit in a comfortable position while you come set and work through your motion. Blonde Pro Stock® leather offers premium performance and feel that only gets better with time. Our trademark Dual Welting™ helps maintain ideal shape throughout the life of the glove. Handmade in Japan by expert craftsmen, each A2K® is the product of decades of experience poured into hours of labor spent assembling, shaping and perfecting. Exclusive Double Palm Construction implements an additional layer of leather that maintains a smooth palm and ideal pocket shape during the break-in process and throughout the life of the glove by enhancing pocket stability. A pattern that continues growing in popularity, the 1724 was designed to accommodate infielders who play with two fingers in the pinky stall. Altered finger stalls and a modified wrist opening give players more leverage at the ends of the hand, helping to funnel the ball firmly into the pocket and snap the glove shut. The 11.75” H-Web build gives players extra reach for shutting down the holes while staying nimble enough to react to hard hit balls and challenging hops.
